Water Restrictions lifted - in areas connected to the Mossman/Port Douglas Water Supply Scheme
Significant rain over the weekend in the Rex Creek catchment has increased the flow in Rex Creek to minor flood levels. This follows 4 months of well below average rainfall and record low flows which led to the introduction of Stage 2 water restrictions in October in Mossman and Port Douglas areas.
Council's permanent water conservation measures which promote efficient use of our water resources will now come back in to force.
For private and commercial garden watering these are:
- Permitted watering times between 5-9 am and 5-9pm
- No watering with sprinklers on Mondays
- Odd numbered houses on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday
- Even numbered houses on Wednesday/Friday/Sunday
- Hand held hoses with a trigger nozzle at any time.
